Audi once again sold more automobiles with all-wheel drive than any other premium manufacturer. The brand with the four rings produced 437,792 vehicles with quattro drive last year. In the year in which Audi celebrated “30 years of quattro,” around 38 percent of all cars produced worldwide were equipped with the all-wheel drive technology.

Audi is about to roll out Audi Connect, an infotainment system that combines an in-vehicle Wi-Fi link with what amounts to a navigation system on steroids. Audi Connect debuts in the 2012 Audi A7 this spring. It will be available on the 2012 A8 this summer and optional on the 2012 A6 sedan when it goes on sale this fall.

The Audi A1 has earned another notch on its awards post by being named Best Luxury Small Car of 2011 by CarBuyer’s expert panel of road testers and reviewers. CarBuyer praised the A1 for being “unlike any other rival” because it presents “big-car luxury in a pint-sized package. It offers the cheapest route to Audi ownership, yet the driving experience is every bit as rewarding as it is in one of the maker’s more upmarket – and expensive – models.”

German automaker Audi has revealed its Audi A3 concept, the four-seat notchback sedan, at the ongoing the 81st International Motor Show in Geneva. The A3 concept integrates the improved MMI operating system and the high-tech infotainment system. The car also features a five-cylinder turbo developing 408 hp, a seven-speed S tronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
